They are the only two men to have two of their encounters be selected as match of the year. When you have Jack Brisco and Dory Funk Jr., you only need three matches to produce a classic video. Feb. 8, 1972 - Thousands were turned away at St. Petersburg's Bay Front Convention Center to watch Dory Funk Jr. try to turn back the challenge of the undisputed number one contender. This match set a Southern attendance record that stood for years.
